Blanket Campaign in Brick Maker Prison!

BLANKETS OF LOVE!

Our blanket distributions to enslaved families in brickmaker prisons have undergone several name changes throughout the years.

One was named ‘Elijah’s Hope’ following the untimely death of a little boy named Elijah, who perished in his mother’s arms on a cold night when her body’s warmth was not enough. We set the remainder of his family free and sent Elijah’s mother to sewing school. She has since crafted many garments for prisoners to keep them warm and has also participated in several blanket distributions within the prisons.

No two distributions are alike! For instance, in this last distribution, I want to share the story of how two GRM co-laborers came together under the guidance of God’s Spirit and touched an entire prison!

I would like to take more time with this story….the prisons have had outbreaks of pneumonia this year!

We have one dear friend who loves to send help for our Blanket Campaigns.

In these campaigns we have a gospel message, a meal and then the distribution of blankets.

THE VALUE OF ONE BLANKET

For years, our native mission leaders have told us that giving a family a jumbo blanket is equivalent to giving them a car due to their power to keep infants and the elderly alive.

We have come to understand their crucial importance, particularly amidst the cold or flu season. Without exception, when we hand out blankets, the entire prison is filled with great joy and happiness.

TWO GRM CO-LABORERS!

We aimed to launch a Blanket Campaign as THIS SINGLE prison reported the death of 39 children this winter. Most of them died due to a lack of covering during the cold nights.

  • A long-time GRM friend called making a sacrificial offering for Blankets, BUT it was not enough to cover the entire need!
  • We informed our friend that we would promote this and tell her when we had collected sufficient funds.

However, by faith, we immediately contacted our local team and instructed them to prepare and identify the prison with the most critical conditions.

THIS IS ONE OF THE LARGEST PRISONS WE VISIT, WITH 179 FAMILIES. Every family received a LOVE BLANKET!

Seconds after instructing our leaders to prepare, another GRM co-laborer, unaware of what had just transpired, made an online donation for the exact amount needed… to the penny, designated for blankets! Immediately, we sent the funds and set the date.

This collaboration is orchestrated by the ministry of God’s Holy Spirit, a phenomenon we often witness in our offices.

God cherishes these little children and does not wish for any to perish.

However, it is crucial for God’s people to be receptive to the Lord’s guidance.

“One plants, another waters, but it is God who gives the increase.” I Cor. 3:6
